Trendec to Present Innovative Biometric Authentication System for Workforce Management at TASSCC Annual Conference in Dallas, Texas
Kemp Fuller, Biometric Practice Director, to Present on Solutions and Approach to Utilizing Biometric Authentication in Time and Attendance and Other Workforce Management Processes

Trendec, the Public Sector Division of The
Harbour Group, Inc., today announced that Kemp Fuller, Biometric Practice
Director, will be presenting on the topic "Utilizing Biometrics to enhance
security and increase efficiency of workforce management solutions" at the
2005 Texas Association of State Systems for Computing and Communications
(TASSCC) Annual Conference. Fuller will discuss how, by utilizing biometric
authentication, government agencies, universities, and school districts can
increase their security, prevent fraud, and drive greater efficiencies from
their Human Resource and Workforce Management Systems.
The 2005 TASCC Annual Conference, taking place in Dallas, Texas August 7 -
10, will bring together senior information technology professionals of
state agencies and universities from across Texas. The conference is a
forum promoting cooperation among technology decision makers in Texas
government and higher education with this year's focus being on "Enterprise
Makeover." This conference is expressly designed to address the unique
opportunities and problems that are faced in the public sector.
Fuller's presentation is scheduled for August 9th at 1:30 p.m. CDT and will
address how biometric authentication adds significant capability to
workforce management systems and is an essential component in securing
critical infrastructure and guarding against fraud and time administration
errors.
"I am excited about the opportunity to address how adding biometric
authentication into the time administration process brings improved
security and efficiency while at the same time provides the foundation for
expanded self-service capabilities in the workforce management system,"
said Fuller.
"Biometric Authentication provides unique advantages to the most sensitive
and intricate business processes that affect not only every employee in an
organization but directly affects the security and reliability of the
services provided. In state government, there are literally hundreds of
workforce applications that would benefit from verified identity. Further,
in The National Strategy for The Physical Protection of Critical
Infrastructures and Key Assets published by The White House, 'exploration
of methods to authenticate and verify personnel identity' is one its four
key strategies. This technology directly enables that capability at an
affordable price and in the most reliable method," said Mark A. Hill,
Trendec's Vice President for Public Sector.
Keynote speakers at the conference will include former Special Agent in
Charge of the Dallas FBI office, Danny Defenbaugh, of Defenbaugh and
Associates, Larry Olson, CTO of Texas and Executive Director of the
Department of Information Resources, and Gary Gumbert, CIO of Texas
Department of Health and Human Services.
