Highlights of the new features include:

Real-Time Packet Trace uses the documented z/OS API to provide real-time packet tracing and formatting on the host, offering an easy and direct way for solving network problems as they occur, in real time, on demand. Users can generate different report types, including session-based, packet detail, trace summary, and tally. Extensive filtering options are also provided. This optional feature eliminates the overhead of running continuous real-time traces, if only snapshots of problem-related traces are required.

Exception Reporting provides one-click access to multiple error report types with defects grouped into such categories as Traffic, Threshold, Session, or Sense Code Errors. Customizable highlighting in the Sequence of Execution and Packet Summary Reports allow you to see prevalent categories at a glance.

Trace Diff allows for side-by-side trace analysis on one Windows screen, which offers great benefits for comparison of protocol sequence and response times of similar transactions.

CleverView™ for cTrace Analysis 4.0 is one of the most comprehensive component trace analysis tools on the market, now providing decoding for APPN packet Request Headers and Response Headers, as well as XID3 packets and RTP Optional Segments (including all related control vectors). Protocols supported include IP, TCP, UDP, IPv6, Telnet, TN3270, TN3270E, FTP, LPR, OSPF, RIPv1, EE/HPR, SMTP, POP3, DNS, HTTP, SNMP, ICMP, ICMPv6, ARP, RARP, DHCP, RSH, REXEC and RLOGIN. This extensive protocol support assists migrations from IPv4 to IPv6 and from SNA to EE/TN3270. CLEVER cTrace 4.0 is the diagnostic tool of choice for SNA-TCP/IP hybrid network environments.

Other enhancements include real-time system messages look-up, and a Time Zone Option that lets you select how packet time stamps are displayed, significantly accelerating global network problem diagnosis.
