Blimpie International, Inc. To Implement Tech-Based Food Safety Training To Ensure Customer Safety

This week Blimpie International, Inc. will announce its endorsement of the Basic Food Safety Learning Management System(R) at its national franchisee convention in Miami. Safe Food Solutions, a leading provider of web-based food safety education, on-line record management and data warehousing services, will supply Blimpie International, Inc. with the training program and tracking system for use with its hourly employees.

The Basic Food Safety Learning Management System, a virtual learning resource and customized cyber community, will provide interactive, general food safety education for Blimpie employees while networking all of the training administration records for the individual locations and parent company. This move by Blimpie signifies the company's overall plan for more efficiency, effectiveness and standardization in deploying food safety training applications.

The agreement plays a role in Blimpie's proactive food safety initiative- a commitment to its patrons to educate all employees- by creating a corporate learning culture focused on standardized, comprehensive, up-to-date workplace food safety training and proper execution of food safety procedures. It also provides Blimpie with a centralized, trackable and cost-effective network to monitor training that organizes all student education through the Learning Management component. This verifiable third party record of training becomes invaluable in the event of a food borne illness incident.
