NuTech Solutions' Car Safety Engineering Improvements Featured at GECCO

NuTech Solutions, a leader in the commercialization of evolutionary computation software, accentuated a prominent presence at GECCO 2005 by presenting recent Engineering Design Optimization successes at a major German auto manufacturer.

The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO), held in Washington, DC last month, is the recombination of the 10th Genetic Programming Conference and the 14th International Conference on Genetic Algorithms sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group for Genetic and Evolutionary Computation. Two of NuTech Solutions' influential Ph.D. scientists, Dr. David Davis and Dr. Thomas Baeck, chaired multiple sessions and served as featured speakers throughout the event.

Dr. Baeck's presentation topic, "Evolutionary Strategies for Engineering Design Optimization," emphasized key benefits recognized using NuTech Solutions' ClearVu Engineering solution to solve multidisciplinary optimization problems in car safety applications. A large German auto manufacturer decreased the time to create the "best" design from five weeks to two weeks and improved the vehicle design, reducing mass by 30 pounds without compromising crash safety using ClearVu Engineering.
