Apple patch fixes sucurity issues
By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze
Apple Computer has released a patch to fix two security issues in Mac OS X systems.
Mac OS X has a problem with its TCP/IP stack that results in a kernel panic if a specially manipulated TCP/IP packet arrives. Once the kernel goes into a panic, the only recourse is to reboot the machine.
The Mac OS X dashboard allows third-party widgets to replace standard Apple widgets. This security flaw allows these widgets to perform secure functions they would otherwise not be allowed to do.
The patches for these two security issues are included in an update that includus numerous other bug fixes and enhancements.
The update is available for download from the apple website or the Mac's Software Update System.
The updates can be found on the Apple website: Apple Support Page
