  Share With Friends

Six prominent companies have qualified to renew their membership in the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA), the national organization dedicated to promoting high ethical standards in the marketing, selling and servicing of individually sold life insurance, annuities and long-term care insurance.

IMSA Executive Director Brian Atchinson congratulated the following companies for completing the rigorous, independent review of their marketing, sales and compliance practices required every three years to qualify for renewed IMSA membership:

-- Horace Mann Life Insurance Company, Springfield, IL, and
the following five affiliates of American Express Financial Advisors:
    -- American Centurion Life, Albany, NY;
    -- American Enterprise Life, Minneapolis, MN;
    -- American Partners Life Insurance Company, Minneapolis, MN;
    -- IDS Life Insurance Company, Minneapolis, MN;
    -- IDS Life Insurance Company of New York, Albany, NY

"IMSA qualification is a real demonstration of a company's ongoing commitment to high standards of ethical business practices and fair and honest service to customers," said IMSA Executive Director Brian Atchinson. "We applaud these companies for their dedication to IMSA's standards and their continuing efforts to safeguard consumers."

IMSA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization created to promote consumer protection and service through high ethical standards in the life insurance, long-term care insurance and annuity products industry. IMSA-qualified companies represent nearly 60 percent of the individually sold life insurance, long-term care insurance, and annuity products written in the United States. These companies commit to maintaining high ethical standards and to being fair, honest, and open in the way they advertise, sell and service their products. An important credential only a select number of insurers have attained, the IMSA seal is a guidepost of excellence and integrity for consumers. The IMSA website is www.IMSAethics.org.
