N'Genuity, Cargill Sign Food Processing Agreement to Use Bo Jackson Signature Meats & N'Genuity Brands

N'Genuity Enterprises, Inc., a Native-American, woman-owned business based here, is teaming with Cargill's meat processing arm to produce and jointly market products for U.S. government, commercial, retail and foodservice customers.

N'Genuity has signed a production agreement with Wichita, Kan.-based Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation, which is one of the top beef, pork and turkey processors in the United States. The product offerings under the Bo Jackson Signature Meats and N'Genuity brands will include ground beef, cooked meats, deli meats, portion-controlled steaks and turkey products.

Co-owned by successful entrepreneur Valerie LittleChief and sports legend Bo Jackson, N'Genuity will work with Cargill Meat Solutions as part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Mentor-Protege Program.

The purpose of the Mentor-Protege Program is to enhance the capabilities of developing companies to successfully compete for government contracts and to assist them in establishing key business processes and strategies that will eventually enable them to grow the business and operate independently. N'Genuity has an SBA Small Disadvantaged Business certification and 8(a) status.

"Cargill Meat Solutions has proven processes and procedures," said LittleChief. "We are looking forward to working with Cargill to establish a plan for additional growth in meat processing."

"Working with Cargill Meat Solutions, N'Genuity will have the ability to expand into new markets outside its current ones," Jackson said. "Cargill Meat Solutions has a research and development department that could assist N'Genuity in developing new and innovative products," he said.

"We are excited to work with Valerie, Bo and the N'Genuity team," said Bill Buckner, president of Cargill Meat Solutions. "They have excellent brands in Bo Jackson Signature Meats and N'Genuity, and we are excited about working with them to expand their brands and business."

Tim Thomas, director of Cargill's Supplier Diversity Initiative, said: "Each day, Cargill does business around the world in food, nutrition, agriculture and supply chain management. Our appreciation for working in a diverse marketplace has the potential of making the agreement with N'Genuity an excellent strategic fit for the customers they serve."

Production of N'Genuity products will be done at Cargill's value-added meat facilities in Nebraska City, Neb.; Booneville, Ark.; Waco, Texas; Milwaukee, Wis.; and Timberville, Va. Cargill Meat Solutions has a research and development facility in Wichita.
