Lectra Stands Out as a Specialist in Industrial Fabrics

  Share With Friends

Lectra (OTC: LCTSF) presented its range of design and development solutions for technical textiles users at a 300 m2 stand at the TechTextil trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany. The event also demonstrated the strengths of the company's automated cutting solutions -- VectorTechTex and Humantec's MFC, six months after acquiring the German specialist -- as well as its latest laser cutter, the Focus 10C-600, equipped with a new laser source.

The trade fair provided Lectra with an opportunity to highlight its role in supporting its customers' performance and to demonstrate its commitment to working side by side with them on development throughout the production process.

Solutions adapted to the high expectations of manufacturers

Companies using industrial fabrics must respond to the key challenge of optimizing their production and prototyping processes. Lectra offers them DesignConcept, its complete 3D/2D solution.

Demonstrations on the stand won over many visitors, who were particularly impressed with its applications in the automotive sector. Creating shapes and technical plans in two or three dimensions, automatic flattening, preparing pieces for production, and analysis of distortion and costs to measure feasibility make DesignConcept the perfect solution for optimizing the entire product development cycle.

Automatic cutting solutions also held the attention of audiences at demonstrations of the VectorTechTex and MFC production systems and the latest laser cutter, the Focus 10C-600.

"The new Focus offers valuable advantages for users of industrial fabrics, with significant improvements in cutting quality, productivity, and reduction of offcuts, particularly with multi-ply cutting," confirmed Pierre Vallortigara, Lectra's transport and industrial fabrics director.

The performance of the laser cutting solution drew the interest of many manufacturers of airbags and filtration systems as well as users of innovative materials from other sectors.

Spotlight on the complementary strengths of Lectra and Humantec

The other cutting systems were also eagerly received, demonstrating the strength of Lectra's product range. The complementary multi-ply cutting of VectorTechTex and single-ply cutting of MFC, combining speed and precision, highlighted the specific features of the two systems and the enlarged spectrum of applications. The demonstrations, performed with the involvement of customers who had come to test the equipment with their own materials under real production conditions, were widely praised by visitors.

"Manufacturers are very demanding in terms of performance and reliability. Lectra's product range is particularly strong in this respect. By presenting our solutions based on thirty years of innovation, we are reaffirming our willingness to work alongside those in the sector and offer them solutions developed to cope with the challenges they face," concluded Pierre Vallortigara.
