ATLANTA, July 6, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Harland has launched a series of new personal check designs that offer financial institution accountholders more choices and greater convenience. The expanded product line is part of Harland's overall strategy to help financial institutions establish and grow their core checking account relationships.

The new and refreshed personal check series features a variety of colorful designs and accessories including matching leather covers and address labels. Newly licensed designs include Mr. Potato Head(tm), (c)Sue Dreamer, Build-A-Bear Workshop(r), (c)Valerie Tabor Smith and International Speedways.

Consumers can also use their checks to support a number of charitable organizations through Harland's extended line of cause-related check designs. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of designated checks and accessories benefits individual organizations. Harland has partnered with three new organizations including Cure Search, American Heart Association and Hasbro Children's Hospital. With the addition of these partnerships, Harland now offers 10 cause-related check designs that support causes ranging from medical research to environmental preservation.

To complement the new product offering, Harland has streamlined its marketing materials and check catalogs to increase efficiency among financial institution employees and to make the selection process easier and more enjoyable for consumers. Collectively, the enhancements deliver greater value to clients through increased customer satisfaction and reduced operational costs, and they help protect financial institutions' revenue from the direct check marketers.

"Our goal at Harland is to continually develop products that support the business objectives and increase the profitability of financial institutions," said Steve Albright, senior vice president of marketing. "Checks are an important consumer touch point and we are committed to investing in our core checks business to optimize check program performance for our clients."
