OnFiber Presents Carriers With a Cost-Effective Approach to Reaching Underserved COs

OnFiber Communications, the premier source for purpose-built networks, today announced that it is offering service to underserved central offices (COs) that present opportunity for cost-effective network access. To create an economically viable solution for accessing hard-to-reach COs, OnFiber will combine the resources of multiple carriers in a mutually beneficial way. The end result enhances OnFiber's business in the competitive metro core market segment by giving its carrier customers a faster, easier and typically diverse alternative to purchasing directly from the Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC).

While many carriers want to provide alternative access into COs, the opportunity to sell individual circuits often times cannot justify the high capital cost required to become an established service provider. However, by leveraging multiple carrier assets, applying its expertise in network construction, and aggregating multiple demand sets, OnFiber has lowered these barriers to entry.

OnFiber's new service offering allows carriers to extend their network and services utilizing SONET. Initially, DS3, OC-3 and OC-12 point to point circuits will be available into select central offices surrounding the Washington, DC, and Atlanta metropolitan areas. OnFiber may extend service to additional COs and offer more transport service options later this year.
