Learn2Serve.com Announces Launch of Online Texas Food Safety Manager Exam Program

AUSTIN, Texas, June 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Learn2Serve.com, (www.Learn2Serve.com) the nation's leading online hospitality, food and beverage compliance training portal, has announced its' approval by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as a certified online testing site for the Texas Certified Food Safety Manager program.

The newly launched program allows foodservice workers seeking an official Texas Food Safety Manager Certification card to access a state-approved online examination 24x7 through any Internet-enabled computer. The certification by state law is recognized in all Texas counties; however some counties may require additional training to complement the certification.

"We are pleased to see the approval of this program which has spent over one year in research and development," stated Ed Sattar, CEO of 360training, "We're certain that this program will benefit those who have scheduling or location constraints, increasing the overall accessibility to obtain this important certification in a secure online testing environment."

Legislation passed in 2002 opened the door for online delivery of examinations as well as giving foodservice workers with prior industry knowledge the ability to "challenge the exam". Such provisions allow food safety managers to take the test immediately for re-certification with optional training, all of which has been made available through the Learn2Serve.com training portal.

Learn2Serve.com has also announced a series of delivery options, which include an 8-hour prep course and exam package, exam only or prep-course only.

To become certified, testing candidates must achieve a score of 70% or higher to pass the 75-question, 90-minute exam. The optional training course covers food safety issues, regulations, and techniques to maintain a food-safe environment. It will help those to better understand how correct food handling is not only the law, but also how it improves safety and lowers costs.

Learn2Serve, a division 360training, will be promoting the launch of the Texas food safety certification course and exam at the Texas Restaurant Association Southwest Foodservice Expo in Dallas, Texas beginning on June 24, 2005.
