PCS Edventures! Announces Professional Development Series

PCS Edventures! (OTC BB: PCSV) announced today
that it completed the first deployment of its new Professional Development
series in Science for Elementary school teachers at the new Fairview Magnet
School in Texarkana, AR. The Professional Development series includes
hands-on training using the unique PCS Academy of Science WizKits. Fairview
is one of the new elementary magnet schools in Texarkana, AR, specializing
in Aerospace and Environmental Studies. Additional Academy of Science
professional development programs are underway in Louisiana, Idaho, New
York, New Jersey, Texas, and other states throughout the nation.
"We identified a huge need for Professional Development in Science,
especially for elementary teachers, middle school teachers, alternative and
special education teachers that need to teach science yet are not
comfortable with science," said Solly Tamari, Manager of the PCS Academy of
Science product line, "and we responded with this unique, portable solution
that is now being deployed at Fairview Magnet School and other sites around
the country. Science education in the U.S. has been falling in the past 30
years, causing most of the more than 1.5 million elementary school teachers
themselves to suffer from inadequate preparation. The only way to improve
science education is by helping make teachers better teachers in science --
and we have a practical solution," Solly added.
All teachers nationwide have been mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act
to achieve what is called a "highly qualified" status in the subjects they
teach. Science is one of the most important of these subjects and current
research indicates that hands-on, inquiry-based teaching methodology is the
most effective way to teach and learn science. The PCS Academy of Science
professional development series provides a unique, effective solution to
this challenge.
