Irwin Energy Participates in 10,000 Acre Oil and Gas Prospect
Initial Well Planned to Test Supai Reservoir for Oil, Natural Gas and Helium
Irwin Energy, Inc. (OTC: IWNN) (the
"Company") is pleased to announce that on May 1, 2005, it entered into an
agreement with Crossroads Exploration & Production LLC ("CREP") for an
undivided 20% working interest in the 10,021.47 acre Concho Dome leasehold,
in Apache County, Arizona. Under the terms of the Agreement, the Company
paid the gross sum of USD $72,200 for its share of the turnkey drilling
expense and estimated completion expense. The Company's working interest
is based upon the actual cost of the project.
Under the terms of the Agreement, CREP agreed to commence operations for
the drilling of an initial well designed to test the depths of oil, natural
gas and helium. Initial plans call for the test well NZOG 17-1 to be
drilled to a depth of 2,200 feet or to a depth sufficient to test the
Permian Supai foundation for the presence of oil, natural gas and helium.
The Supai foundation (Permian) is the principal drilling objective. The
Supai foundation has been responsible for most of the oil and gas shows
encountered in wells in Arizona's Holbrook Basin. The Supai foundation
typically consists of sandstone, siltstone, shale, limestone, dolomite,
anhydrite, and salt, depending on location. Many wells drilled in the
Holbrook Basin have encountered oil and gas shows in Supai, including small
amounts of free oil in some tests. The presence of these shows would
indicate that most of the rocks are thermally mature and in the oil window.
