Twila M. Day Named Vice President, Information Technology at SYSCO Corporation
HOUSTON, May 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation announced today that Twila M. Day has been appointed vice president, information technology. Mrs. Day, who currently serves as assistant vice president, technology and applications, will assume her new role on July 3, 2005, the start of SYSCO's fiscal year 2006.
Mrs. Day, 43, began her SYSCO career in 1992 as a senior programmer analyst in the company's information technology department. The following year she advanced to team leader of the SYSCO Uniform Systems (SUS) project and in 1995 was named project manager. Mrs. Day advanced to senior manager, application development in 1996, then was promoted to senior director, operating company support team in 1997. In 1999 she became senior director, application development and in 2000 she was appointed to her current position.
Mrs. Day was born in Champaign, Ill., and raised in Florida. She graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in business management from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas. She and her husband Bill live in Richmond, Texas and have two sons and three daughters.
