AIIM Recognizes Outstanding Achievement and Significant Contribution to the Enterprise Content Management Industry

AIIM EXPO -- AIIM, the international
authority on Enterprise Content Management (ECM), is pleased to announce
the winners of its annual association and industry awards. Winners were
acknowledged at the AIIM awards celebration last night in conjunction with
the annual AIIM On Demand Conference and Exposition.
The AIIM association and industry awards recognize outstanding achievement
and significant contribution by members and organizations to the industry
and the association. "The Awards Committee faced an especially difficult
challenge this year," notes AIIM President John Mancini. "The quantity of
nominations was higher across all categories, and the quality of the
candidates was truly exceptional. This demonstrates the commitment of our
members to the Association and to the ECM industry -- a commitment for
which we are truly grateful."

ASSOCIATION AWARDS
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
Established in 1973, this award recognizes individuals whose outstanding
service benefited the advancement of Enterprise Content Management
technology through AIIM chapters, national or international standards
development, or other committee activity.
This year's recipients are:

COMPANY OF FELLOWS
The Company of Fellows honors those individuals in the association who
merit recognition and distinction for their outstanding contributions to
the Enterprise Content Management Industry. Each award is numbered and
assigned in perpetuity. No more than four individuals are inducted each
year.
Robert Blatt, President, Electronic Image Designers
Bob has been involved in the document management industry for many years
starting with microfilm and fiche systems and later moving into computer
storage and network operations. He is an avid supporter of the AIIM
standards program serving on AIIM, ANSI and ISO technical committees. Bob
received the Distinguished Service Award in 2002 as well as the AIIM Master
of Information Technology designation and the Document Imaging Laureate.
John Breeden, Records Manager, Virginia Dept. of Transportation
John has been an active member of the Old Dominion for many years, serving
in every office in the chapter. He participates in the AIIM Standards
Program as well as serving on the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO. John
received the Distinguished Service Award in 1994.
Peter Hovell, President, Hovell Assoc., Inc.
Peter has been a member of AIIM for over 25 years. He has been an active
member of the Film-based Imaging Association and is Director and V. P. of
Membership. Peter is currently serving as Acting-Chair. He is the
recipient of the Masters of Information Technology Designation.
A.J. Hyland, President, Hyland Software Co.
A.J. has been active in the industry for the past 12 years. He has served
on the AIIM Board of Directors, most recently as Chair, as well as chairing
the Board of Directors Nominating Committee and is one of the founding
members of the Advisory Trade Member Board.
INDUSTRY AWARDS
THOMAS C. BAGG STANDARDS AWARD
The Thomas C. Bagg Standards Award is given in memory of Thomas C. Bagg,
Jr., who was an internationally recognized leader in the standards
community. The recipient must have been an active member of the AIIM
Standards Program and other industry standards programs for ten or more
years. No more than one such award will be made in any one year, and it is
not necessarily awarded annually.
This year's recipient is Lester Kruger, retired from 3M Company.
EDUCATION AWARD
The Education Award was established to recognize individuals and/or
companies who have advanced the Enterprise Content Management industry
through educational programs.
This year's recipient is Pamela Doyle, Director, Imaging Products Group
Spokesperson, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc.
THE FILM-BASED IMAGING ASSOCIATION AWARD
The Film-based Imaging Association Award was established in 2001 to
recognize those who have made widely recognized contributions that have
materially benefited the film-based imaging industry.
This year's recipient is Russ Burkel, General Manager, Analogue Imaging,
LLC.
BEST PRACTICES AWARD
The AIIM Best Practices award was established to recognize excellence in
the ECM field. The term "Best Practice" denotes a standard of excellence
that has been achieved within an organization and refers to a process that
can be quantified, adapted, and repeated.
This year, awards are being presented in the following categories:

MASTER OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES (MIT)
The AIIM Master of Information Technologies Designation is intended to
recognize those individuals with a significant track record of education,
AIIM membership, and industry accomplishment.
Recipients of the 2005 Master of Technologies Designation are:

AIIM has established areas of specialization beyond the Master of
Information Technologies Program: Micrographics, Electronic Document Image
Management, Workflow, Engineering Document Management, Systems
Integrator/Value-Added Reseller, Enterprise Content Management and
Electronic Records Management. This specialization is open only to persons
who have completed the Master of Information Technologies Designation.
Recipients of the 2005 Laureate of Information Technologies Designation and
their specialization areas are:
