Cepstral Announces Swift MRCP Text-to-Speech
Cost-Breaking Distributed Speech Technology Released for Telephony Industry

Cepstral LLC announced the release of
standards-compliant Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) support for the
Cepstral Swift Text-to-Speech System. The new product, Swift MRPC, will
target IVR, VoIP PBX, and other telephony voice applications.
Cepstral worked with Innovative Engineering Concepts (IEC), Inc., to
provide MRCP platform support. The network transport standard is widely
used throughout the telephony industry for pooling speech services. The
architecture helps manage resources and minimize the per channel costs
associated with multi-port systems. "The Swift MRCP Server can
intelligently manage TTS within a system comprised of multiple machines,
call lines, operating systems, etc.," said IEC president David Lief.
The Swift MRCP Server is compatible with major telephony hardware and
software, including the line of Intel voice boards, and standards-based
VoiceXML gateways. "We believe the adoption of open standards will provide
greater opportunity and exposure for the Cepstral brand. People find that
they can have great sounding voices like our David and Diane, in a range of
languages, at the best prices in the industry," said Mr. Lenzo.
Interested parties may contact Cepstral to obtain an evaluation package of
Swift MRCP. "Cepstral and IEC have joined forces on a common desire to
make high quality speech software as widely accessible as possible," added
Mr. Lief. "This partnership puts important alternatives into the MRCP
marketplace."
