NWAS Brings State-of-the-Art Well Water Location Technology to Colorado

  Share With Friends

FORT COLLINS, Colo., May 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- For Colorado residents the need for water has never been greater. Below average snowpack water volume in many of the state's river basins has many Coloradoans wondering whether extended drought conditions will persist into the summer of 2005. Fortunately, a new well location technology has just rolled into The Centennial State. By using electro-seismic technology, National Water Surveying (NWAS) can locate a good well site and provide a printed report containing approximate water depth, water quality (as it relates to salinity), and approximate yield with scientific accuracy.

With water being the most important investment on a property, NWAS can help land developers, realtors, farmers, utility companies, and property buyers save thousands of dollars by not going through the time and expense of drilling a dry well. NWAS guarantees that customers will not drill a dry well at their recommended site after a survey.

The process begins by driving electrodes into the ground. A sound wave is then sent into the ground where it travels through the rock formations up to 1500 feet causing the rock formation to move slightly (usually less than one millimeter). When this occurs in a water-bearing rock formation, the water is displaced. This movement causes a small, yet measurable, electrical signal that returns to the surface and is recorded. That data is then processed by Geophysist Dr. Ed Wightman of Littleton, CO, to determine depth, yield, and quality (as it relates to salinity). The technology's accuracy has been proven over the last nine years throughout the world and more recently over the last four years in the U.S.
