YesVideo Announces New YesDVD Generator Software-Only Solution for Automated, In-Store DVD Transfers
Industry Leader's Patented Software Leverages Photo Retailers' Existing Equipment to Enable Same-Day, In-Store Transfers of Digital Camera Memory Cards and Camcorder Videotapes to Hollywood-Style DVDs, With Software Pricing Starting at $3200

YesVideo(TM), Inc. (www.yesvideo.com), the
leader in digital media authoring, today announced its new YesDVD Generator
software-only solution for automated, in-store DVD transfers. Based on
software developed for YesVideo's award-winning YesDVD Generator minilab
system, the YesDVD Generator software enables photo retailers to leverage
their existing equipment to produce Hollywood-style DVDs from digital
camera memory cards and camcorder videotapes, with same-day service.
"We developed the YesDVD Generator software-only solution in response to
photo retailers who are looking to expand their revenue opportunities by
creating DVDs from digital camera and camcorder cassette content, while
maximizing their investment in existing photo imaging equipment," said
Sai-Wai Fu, president and CEO of YesVideo. "With the YesDVD Generator
software-only solution, retailers can simply load YesDVD Generator software
onto a PC with access to a DVD burner and color printer to produce
Hollywood-style DVDs."
The YesDVD Generator software-only solution supports high-quality, in-store
DVD creation from a wide variety of videotape formats, including D8, Hi8,
8mm, SVHS, VHS, VHS-C and MiniDV, as well as digital photos and video from
digital cameras, including CD/DVD, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, SmartMedia,
MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital, xD-Picture Card, and USB.
YesDVD Generator software and systems are based on YesVideo's extensive
software assets coupled with expertise honed from its YesDVD outlab
service, which is distributed by Kodak through a variety of retailers,
including Walgreens, Target and CVS. Because the YesDVD Generator software
and systems enable digital transfers to take place within the individual
retail location, retailers can offer customers same-day service at a
fraction of the cost of services offered by digital transfer specialists.
Making home videos and digital pictures fun to watch and easy to search,
key features of a YesDVD include: automatic intelligently created chapter
scenes; onscreen chapter menu with thumbnail images representing each
chapter; three music videos with video highlights from the video set to
music; a unique custom DVD case coversheet with thumbnail images from each
chapter of the video; and beginning in May, Digital Scrapbook(TM)
multimedia editing software loaded onto the DVD.
Pricing and Availability
The YesDVD Generator software-only solution will be available to photo
retailers beginning in June 2005, with pricing starting at $3,200.
