SMART Modular Technologies, Inc. Announces Its New Display Products Group

SMART Leverages Its Supply Chain Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing Expertise as Well as Its Newly Acquired TFT-LCD Flat Panel Display Technology to Provide a Competitive New Product Line

SMART Modular Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has launched its Display Products Group in order to quickly and cost-effectively deliver thin film transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal display (LCD) solutions to customers developing casino gaming systems as well as embedded applications such as kiosk, ATM, point-of-sale, and industrial control systems. The new Display Products Group will benefit from the technical and engineering expertise of the LCD development team based in Korea and the sales, operations, procurement, purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering expertise of SMART employees based in the United States and around the world.

SMART's TFT-LCDs benefit from advanced engineering, including an industry-leading analog-to-digital scalar board, which can be configured across a range of performance levels and input sources. Custom systems are available, such as those with special timing modes and functional support for gaming, amusement, and entertainment applications. Manufacturing will take place at SMART's state-of-the-art 130,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Fremont, California, which is equipped with a Class 10,000 clean room and on-site operations, manufacturing engineering, and development engineering support. As part of SMART's long-range planning process, the facility was specifically designed to enable fast ramp up of additional capacity.

SMART will showcase and demonstrate its display products at stand #1703 at the National Indian Gaming Association convention and tradeshow held in the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, during April 12-13.
