Healthier and Empowered: Natural Treatments for Life's Changes
The American College for Advancement in
Medicine (ACAM) announces its 63rd International Scientific and
Educational conference on Complementary, Alternative, and Integrative
Medicine (CAIM) entitled "Menopause, Andropause; Power in Transition."
Experts predict that 49.5 million American women will experience menopause
by the year 2020, and currently, 85% of menopausal women experience hot
flashes. Yet a growing body of research is revealing a significant increase
in disease risk in menopausal women taking hormone replacement therapy
(HRT). Furthermore, 5-19 million American men are experiencing a
little-known phenomenon called Andropause, the "male menopause." The latest
scientific research in hormone imbalance lends support to the use of more
natural and noninvasive treatments of these conditions.
From May 18-22 in Orlando, Florida, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort,
ACAM's scientific symposium will bring together leading experts and health
professionals for a comprehensive educational program with information on
the newest natural (bio-identical) hormonal therapies for menopause and
andropause. We will discuss the newest research on hormonal regulation and
the endocrine system and how this relates to nutritional CAIM therapies.
The American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) is a not-for-profit
medical society dedicated to educating physicians and other health care
professionals on the latest scientific research and emerging breakthroughs
in integrative medicine, including the latest non-invasive medical
treatments for cardiovascular disease like chelation therapy, and
nutritional modalities that promote a healthy heart.
Celebrating more than a quarter century of service, ACAM represents more
than 1,000 physicians in 30 countries. ACAM is the largest and oldest
organization of its kind in the world dedicated exclusively to advancing
the field of medicine by educating physicians about groundbreaking research
and scientific discoveries in integrative medicine.
