Cellulite Defeated By New Techonology Available Through Plano Aesthetics Center

PLANO, Texas (EWORLDWIRE) Mar 8, 2005

When it comes to cellulite, those who have it know that diet and exercise don't eliminate it. An estimated 90 percent of women have cellulite.

A 40-45 minute, non-invasive procedure is effective ammunition for a woman's battle against her nemesis - cellulite. It's a fat shrinking medical device called VelaSmooth.

VelaSmooth, developed by Syneron Medical, Ltd., uses ELOS, light energy and radio frequency energy to heat the fat. Mechanical rollers massage the skin and in combination break down fat and mobilize water from tissues to safely contour the skin's surface. The process then gradually re-defines the orange-peel or cottage cheese appearance. The body then naturally expels the fat.

Still pending Food and Drug Administration approval, Plano Aesthetics Center - a participant in clinical trials - possesses a VelaSmooth machine.

Dr. Jeffrey Caruth, medical director of the center said, "The treatment is painless, feels similar to a heated massage, only with a machine as the massage mechanism. VelaSmooth is unlike endermologie treatments and produces better results. You may not only experience cellulite reduction, but patients have experienced circumferential measurement reduction at the treated areas. Some patients have even experienced a reduction as great as three and a half inches in each thigh."

There are only about 40 medical facilities in the United States that currently have the VelaSmooth technology. VelaSmooth is expected to follow Health Canada's approval with a U.S. FDA approval sometime this year.
