Hertz Acquires Multiple Location Licensee in Midwest

  Share With Friends

The Hertz Corporation today announced it has completed the acquisition of its licensee with locations in Bloomington, Springfield and Champaign/ Urbana, Illinois; Madison and La Crosse, Wisconsin; and Lincoln, Nebraska. The affected locations officially became corporate-owned effective March 1, 2005.

Hertz has purchased the operations of John Nottoli, Inc. based in Bloomington, Illinois, owned and operated by the Nottoli family which had been part of the Hertz Licensee Network since 1969.

The acquisition enables Hertz to further solidify its strong presence in key Midwest markets. "All of the locations served by the Nottoli franchise have been critical components of our national car rental network, and we extend our appreciation to the Nottolis for their fine service to Hertz customers for over 35 years," said Joseph R. Nothwang, Executive Vice President & President, Vehicle Rental & Leasing for the Americas and Pacific. "Our immediate plans are for a seamless transition, ensuring the highest levels of customer service are maintained. Within the very near future, we will expand our national suburban rental program to include new locations in and near the cities affected by the acquisition. That will enable Hertz to serve the replacement and other local rental needs of customers in these areas of Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska," added Nothwang.

Hertz offers the products and services renters depend upon when traveling, including 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance, its Buckle Up Baby child car seat program and cars that are, on average, less than a year old. Other Hertz services include #1 Club Gold counter service, vehicles equipped with NeverLost®, Hertz' in-car global positioning system and Sirius Satellite Radio.

For more information, customers can call their travel agent or Hertz reservations toll-free at 1-800-654-3131. For promotions and special offers, visit www.hertz.com.

Hertz operates from approximately 7,200 locations in more than 150 countries.
