eMarketer Names Former WSJ Editor, Ezra Palmer, as Editorial Director
Research aggregator eMarketer announced today
that Ezra Palmer, one of the founding editors of the Wall Street Journal's
online edition, WSJ.com, has joined the company as Editorial Director.
"Ezra is a proven newsroom leader," said eMarketer CEO Geoff Ramsey. "He
not only brings significant editorial expertise to eMarketer, but strategic
vision and industry insights. Ezra is a significant addition to our team
and we are pleased to have him on board."
Palmer, 45, joined the Wall Street Journal in 1987 and was named the
newspaper's night editor in 1992. In 1995 he helped launch WSJ.com, where
he served as assistant managing editor. Among other roles at the Journal
and its parent company, Dow Jones, Palmer managed the Dow Jones Business
News newswire and wrote the front-page news digest, "What's News - Business
and Finance."
"This is a great time to be joining eMarketer," said Palmer. "The analysts
come at their jobs like journalists
-- aggregating and organizing a huge amount of data and information, then
boiling it down to provide concise, insightful analysis. I look forward to
working closely with the analysts and being part of the team."
