Booktastic! Announces Library Fundraising Initiative

Booktastic! today announced a new
fundraising initiative for libraries. Booktastic!, a new literary board
game which appeals to book lovers, families and educators, is now carried
within the Prince William County Library system in Virginia and the
Campbell County Public Library system in Wyoming. Proceeds from the game
sales will raise funds to help support local schools and libraries.
The initiative was the brainchild of Janet Gorn, president of the Prince
William County Library Foundation. "The game is a must for any library and
game collection or as a source to raise funds for local libraries," Gorn
said. "Booktastic! combines the thorough knowledge of books, with one part
Monopoly and one part trivia, creating an addictive recipe of fun for game
enthusiasts and book lovers alike."

"A key component of the game's development was to ensure the design allowed
people of all educational levels and ages to play," said Laine Keneller,
president of Booktastic! "In doing so, we hoped the game could provide
educational assistance for schools and libraries. To know the game can
also provide financial assistance to schools and libraries is more than we
could have hoped for."
Since its release just nine months ago, the game is now being carried in
over 75 outlets throughout the United States. The game has also received
coverage in USA Today, Publishers Weekly, The Christian Science Monitor and
The London Telegraph. A children's edition is slated for release in June
2005.
"Booktastic! is a terrific idea and concept and should be promoted," Gorn
said.
About Booktastic!
Booktastic! is a new literary board game designed for readers, book lovers,
families and educators. Players move around a quaint town square of
bookstores to buy, sell and trade books with money earned from correctly
answering questions or sharing opinions prior to each turn. The "books" in
each store contain real-life information so players learn about noteworthy
books, authors, and first edition values. Even people who do not read
enjoy this game with its unique category of questions with no wrong answer.
