Aruba and Infoblox Team to Secure the Enterprise
Introduce Turn-Key System that Combines Enterprise-Class Wireless and Network Identity Infrastructure Appliances to Make Deploying Wireless Simple, Fast and Easy

Infoblox Inc., the leading developer of
network identity infrastructure systems, and Aruba Wireless Networks, Inc.,
a fast-growing enterprise infrastructure company and wireless LAN (WLAN)
solution provider, today announced availability of a
turn-key solution that helps enterprises radically reduce the time and
complexity of delivering highly secure and easily managed mobility
services. The combined solution, cross-tested and certified by both
companies, includes Infoblox's purpose-built network identity appliances
and Aruba's enterprise wireless LAN systems.
"Building a secure and scalable wireless LAN still requires a tremendous
amount of integration among different network systems, services and
utilities," said Brandon Bryant, network administrator at Legal Services of
New York. "Being able to implement a best-of-breed system that doesn't
lock me into a single vendor and works out of the box is the holy grail for
network administrators. Aruba and Infoblox clearly understand this and are
doing something about it."
Building a Secure Wireless Enterprise
Authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) services are essential
to enabling secure wireless network deployments in an enterprise
infrastructure. In most wireless environments, RADIUS technology is the
solution of choice for enabling these services, and provides a
standards-based interface by which wireless devices can verify passwords,
distribute policies, and store usage data, either in locally stored
databases or through integration with existing enterprise directories such
as Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory and RSA Secure ID.
Integrating RADIUS servers with wireless infrastructure devices can be
tedious and
error-prone, owing to the extensive flexibility of RADIUS services and the
need to tune configuration parameters specific to each wireless device and
customer environment. In addition, conventional RADIUS solutions based on
software deployed on commodity servers and general purpose operating
systems can introduce significant security risks, reliability issues and
unnecessary management overhead. These factors combine to complicate
wireless installations, increase administration costs and leave enterprises
open to attacks on the RADIUS infrastructure.
To address these concerns, Aruba and Infoblox have teamed to introduce a
turn-key system that integrates Aruba's wireless LAN switches and the
Infoblox RADIUSone(TM) appliance, a
plug-and-play device that provides AAA functions to control remote and
local user access.
Deployed as a hardened,
easy-to-manage appliance with full support for 802.1x authentication, the
Infoblox RADIUSone device provides inherent security benefits and
simplifies installation and management. The joint solution has been
interoperability tested and validated to provide a simple and secure means
to add wireless capabilities to an existing LAN infrastructure.
"We are continually making it easier for customers to install and manage
secure mobile environments," commented Keerti Melkote, co-founder, and vice
president of product management and marketing at Aruba. "The Infoblox
RADIUSone appliance provides a simple, secure, plug and play solution for
AAA services that lets customers easily deploy Aruba wireless networks with
the highest possible levels of security and reliability."
"As wireless networking has moved solidly into the mainstream, we've seen
an increased demand from our customers for easier, more secure, and
cost-effective ways to provide the AAA infrastructure necessary for secure
mobility," said Richard Kagan, vice president of marketing at Infoblox.
"With Aruba we can now deliver customers a unified system that increases
wireless security while reducing the implementation and management pain
that are typical of conventional
software-based approaches."
Solunet, Inc. (Solunet), an independent total solutions provider offering
network consultation, a best-of-breed equipment portfolio, technical
support, and professional services for the telecommunications, enterprise
and government industries, will be among the first partners to offer the
joint solution.
Phil O'Reilly, CEO of Solunet, commented, "Solunet prides itself on
providing expertise in wireless LAN, security and VoIP applications and
consistently offering innovative solutions by evaluating new technologies
and identifying opportunities to provide our customers leading-edge
solutions. The Infoblox and Aruba combination provides clear management
and security benefits for our customers in need of a simple, secure and
manageable wireless solution."
Solunet plans to host in February a series of regional seminars
highlighting the Infoblox and Aruba solution. Seminars will be on the
following dates and times:
-- February 15, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Jacksonville, Florida;
-- February 16, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Tampa Bay, Florida; and
-- February 17, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Miami, Florida.
