Maui General Store Signs Consulting Agreement to Advise on Paris and Nicky Hilton Retail Stores
HANA, Hawaii, Jan. 31, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Maui General Store, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a Consulting Agreement with Retail Holdings, LLC to assist with the development and opening of the proposed line of upscale retail stores featuring Paris and Nicky Hilton. These retail outlets will feature current licensed products as well as offering additional product lines created exclusively for the store.
Paris and Nicky Hilton have become household names; Paris' top rated television shows "The Simple Life" and "The Simple Life 2," coupled with Nicky Hilton's notable success as a designer of clothing and accessories, have contributed to their notoriety as media sweethearts. According to Forbes Magazine's annual "Top 100" Celebrity rankings, Paris Hilton broke into the prominent list this year at No. 70 with her media attention and related opportunities continuing to grow. Paris and Nicky's combined accomplishments have significantly added to the interest and excitement surrounding these retail stores as their brand has already been created. With additional media awareness due to Paris' multiple book advances, the release of both seasons of "The Simple Life" on DVD, various movie appearances and Paris' modeling contract with Guess?, the marketing of these retail stores could be a home run.
Richard Miller, President of Maui General Store, is involved with the selection of key management for the Paris and Nicky Hilton retail stores. He feels that the enthusiasm shown from top retail industry management and consultants indicates that the retail store concept has tremendous potential.
This Consulting Agreement will provide Maui General Store with stock and a consulting fee for its involvement in the store development. Maui General Store will advise in the hiring of management, architectural design, personnel selection, store build-out and other areas of support. Mr. Miller feels that this Consulting Agreement will bring equity to the company and give it credibility with new strategic alliances in the apparel business and in the retail environment.
