Digicel Appoints Leslie Buckley Vice Chairman of the Board
Experienced Telecom Executive and Leading Management Consultant Tapped for Digicel's Continued Growth

Digicel Group, the fastest growing mobile
telecommunications operator in the Caribbean, announced today that Leslie
Buckley has been appointed vice chairman of the company's board of
directors.
One of Ireland's most respected business leaders, Buckley has been a member
of Digicel's board since 2001. As a member of the founding team, Buckley
played a crucial role in propelling Digicel's remarkable growth following
the end of decades-old telecom monopolies in the Caribbean.
Digicel launched in Jamaica as the country's first GSM mobile service
provider and quickly gained the majority market share. Since then,
Buckley's strategic direction has helped Digicel replicate that success in
Aruba, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent/Grenadines, Barbados and Cayman.

"Leslie's vision and expertise have proven invaluable to the Digicel team,"
said Denis O'Brien, Digicel founder and chairman of the board. "I am
delighted that Leslie has agreed to serve as vice chairman of the board,
continuing to provide the expert strategic counsel and guidance that will
enable the Company to continue its Caribbean expansion and development of
innovative communications solutions that meet the evolving needs of our
customers."
Prior to Digicel, Buckley was integral to the start-up of Esat Telecom
Group plc and Esat Digifone Limited. He held the position of chief
operations officer of Esat Telecom in 1996 and 1997.
Buckley established his own consultancy business in 1990 and has since been
retained on significant public and private sector projects, including the
reconstruction of Waterford Crystal plc, the reconstruction and sale of
Irish Steel plc, consulting with Irish Rail and the restructuring of Aer
Lingus.
Buckley currently serves on the boards of a variety of companies including
Irishjobs.ie, Communicorp Group Limited, Sita Environmental Limited, the
Irish Medical Organisation Financial Services Limited and Business Recovery
Services Limited. In addition, Buckley has been recognized by the Irish
Minister for Health, who appointed him to the Commission for Nursing in
1997.
