SignatureLink Releases Secure Online Signature Technology

New technology allows for capture and storage of authentic signatures over the Internet.

SignatureLink today announced the release of its online signature technology, which facilitates the electronic transmission of authentic signatures. The new, patent-pending technology allows companies to do business quickly and securely and eliminates the need for parties to fax one another with contracts, agreements and credit card orders. Online signatures are stored safely and securely, saving time, money and paper for all parties concerned, and making faxes a thing of the past.

E-commerce websites are employing the SignatureLink technology to protect themselves from credit card fraud and chargebacks. "Without a signature, any credit card customer can deny an online purchase, and the merchant usually loses," explained SignatureLink's Dave Liscum. "With SignatureLink, online stores can be as safe from credit card fraud as their brick-and-mortar counterparts who get signatures with each transaction."

The company has been testing the technology with various banks and merchants for the past four years, and it is now becoming available to all. Implementing the technology is simple for online businesses. Installing the SignatureLink flash file on a website is as easy as inserting an image, according to Liscum. When customers use the online signature pad, they are asked for an e-mail address. Each signature is stored with the user's e-mail address and I.P. address. Paper faxes and filing are eliminated.

SignatureLink can be used for e-commerce, contracts, petitions and agreements, and the company will customize the software for any use that a client requires.

"Currently there are no other companies that have online signatures, and we have a patent-pending as well as a copyright on it," said Liscum. "The demand is huge."
