Infoblox RADIUS One Achieves OPSEC Certification From Check Point
Infoblox Supports Check Point's Total Access Protection Initiative

Infoblox Inc., the leading developer of
network identity appliances, today announced that its RADIUS One appliance
has achieved Open Platform for Security (OPSEC) certification from Check
Point Software Technologies, Ltd. , the worldwide leader in
securing the Internet.
The Infoblox RADIUS One appliance, a plug-n-play device that provides
authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) functions to control
remote and local user access, was OPSEC tested and certified for seamless
interoperability with the best-in-class Check Point VPN-1® Pro(TM), Check
Point Integrity(TM) and Check Point Connectra(TM) -- security products
essential to achieving secure network access and critical components of
Check Point's recently announced Total Access Protection (TAP(TM))
Initiative. Check Point developed the TAP initiative as a concerted effort
to create a security policy enforcement framework for heterogeneous
networks to secure clients from the risks of hackers, targeted attacks,
spyware and malicious code.
The Infoblox RADIUS One appliance seamlessly integrates with Check Point's
Zone Labs' Integrity Server to increase network security by delivering a
comprehensive network access system. The combination of RADIUS One with
the Check Point security products ensures that only authorized users can
access the network and that client devices are compliant with an
enterprise's security policy, enforcing rules such as firewall- and
virus-protection for highly effective endpoint security.
For example, when a client requests access to the network, the Infoblox
RADIUS One first authenticates the client by verifying username and
password against multiple back-end databases. Then, the Integrity Server
ensures a client is in compliance with user-definable enterprise security
policies, such as virus definition requirements. If the client doesn't
meet security policy requirements, network access is denied and the client
is directed to a quarantined virtual local area network (V-LAN), where
appropriate resources are available to update virus protection on files
accordingly. Once appropriate updates are executed, network access can be
granted.
The highly scalable, reliable and secure Infoblox RADIUS One ensures the
authentication and authorization services are performed seamlessly for
medium- to large-enterprises with high service demands and mission-critical
requirements.
Further, RADIUS One allows centralized authentication to multiple
authentication database back-ends such as Active Directory or an LDAP
server, including eDirectory, for multiple VPN-1 connections. For
Connectra, Check Point's complete Web Security Gateway, RADIUS One allows
easy authentication and authorization services for secure socket layer
(SSL) VPN, Web and network-level access sessions.
"TAP is designed to enable fast, flexible and effective deployment of
security policies to provide defense for endpoint clients and data across
the enterprise," said Paul Weinstein, vice president of business
development for Check Point Software Technologies. "This certification
validates the Infoblox RADIUS One appliance as a compelling option for
customers requiring a highly reliable and secure user authentication
solution. Infoblox is providing a critical component for delivering
effective security policy enforcement and total access protection across an
enterprise."
"We are pleased to receive this certification and become a member of Check
Point's OPSEC Alliance," said Richard Kagan, vice president of marketing at
Infoblox. "The thorough testing demonstrated the plug-n-play
interoperability of the Infoblox RADIUS One which, because of its unique
appliance-based design, decreases administrative overhead and provides
reliability and scalability while dramatically reducing risk across the
enterprise."
About RADIUS One
RADIUS One performs AAA functions for all popular authentication methods,
including both certificate-based and non-certificate-based methods. Common
uses include 802.1X for both wireless and port-based authentication, VPN
and role-based firewalls. A key component of any network identity
infrastructure, RADIUS One appliances are designed to provide the
foundation for next-generation network identity services in a secure and
easy-to-manage hardened appliance.
Its intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) simplifies the application and
administration of network AAA services. RADIUS One ships with built-in
High Availability (HA) capabilities, enabling companies to implement
solutions that are resistant to the failure of a single device or
component. RADIUS One works out of the box with existing enterprise
network-access equipment from a variety of vendors, and it easily scales
and adapts to meet future network requirements.
