General Motors' Chevrolet Division Is First Joint Customer Deployment
Maven Networks, Inc., the software provider
that enables marketers to deliver compelling, next-generation video
experiences on the Web, and Akamai Technologies, Inc. , a
global leader of distributed computing solutions and services, today
announced a strategic partnership to deliver full screen, DVD- and
HD-quality interactive video marketing applications on a worldwide scale.

Akamai will serve as the exclusive content and applications delivery
platform for Maven, assuring Maven customers a secure, scalable, and
reliable network to globally deploy interactive video marketing campaigns.
The two companies have already integrated their respective technologies in
the areas of network intelligence, usage management and metrics, while
future technical collaboration will target improved digital rights
management and distributed computing solutions. Additionally, Maven and
Akamai will work closely together in co-marketing and sales initiatives
aimed at key customer segments.
"There is clearly a growing demand among major brand marketers for rich
interactive video campaigns rivaling the quality of television. Maven's
innovations make it an early leader in next-generation broadband marketing
applications and we believe this partnership gives us access to a
tremendous business opportunity," said Paul Sagan, president, Akamai. "We
hope to collaborate with Maven on many joint projects of this kind."
Maven and Akamai will aggregate campaign reporting on usage and interaction
to simplify brand marketers' ROI analysis. In addition, the two companies'
respective sales organizations will work in concert with marketers to
develop highest-quality desktop-delivered experiences.
"We partnered with Akamai, the most reliable, on-demand source of global
delivery services in the industry, because online consumer marketing
programs are now revenue critical," said Hilmi Ozguc, CEO, Maven Networks.
"Akamai's dependability and scalability will enable Maven to deliver next
generation video applications to a worldwide audience."
The Maven Experience
Maven offers consumers a complete interactive experience within the context
of a video application, by layering interactive functionality -- such as
viral and ecommerce applications -- over full-screen, DVD or HD-quality
video, and delivering it proactively to the consumer's desktop. This
interactive experience captivates and engages consumers, enabling a lasting
connection between a brand and its loyal customers. Maven tracks consumer
activity within the application and provides important behavioral metrics
to improve a campaign's success.
