TAG(R) Develops Intel(R)-Based Solution for EOL TAG's New Servers Will Outlive Most DoD Programs

Tactical Hybrid Server(TM) Has Guaranteed Supply Availability of Five to Seven Years

FT. GORDON SIGNAL SYMPOSIUM -- TAG's Tactical Hybrid Server (THS) provides a highly coveted benefit for many of today's military programs -- it probably won't reach end of life (EOL) before the program does. Although most server motherboards and processors quickly become outdated and are replaced by newer, faster models every 6 to 18 months, TAG's Intel-based THS product line contains technology that is currently faster than today's P4 models yet is guaranteed to be supported by and available from Intel for fielding, sparing, and replacement for the next five to seven years.

TAG®, an engineering services and systems provider of program-specific IT solutions for DoD use, has created a line of tactical hybrid servers that assures long-term supply availability, high system performance, low power consumption, and low heat output in a small form factor. In today's tactical environment, which typically involves high ambient temperatures and limited cooling and power resources, special designs are required for reliable performance. TAG's solution for the high performance, low power/low heat dilemma provides 300-400% more-efficient power consumption and thermal output than the typical commercially available server in a 17" deep, rack-mounted unit.

"Program managers have been searching for one server that satisfies all of their program requirements", said TAG's Chief Operations Officer (COO) Marcus Desouza. "Finally, there is a comprehensive solution that addresses each of these needs -- guaranteed multi-year supply of Intel-based technology, high computing performance, low power usage, low thermal output, and a small, lightweight chassis -- all in a single, rugged TAG server."
