Florida's Sarasota County Selects Pilot Software as Exclusive Provider of Cost-Effective Performance Management Solutions for Local Government and Non-Profit Agencies
PilotWorks(TM) to Be Integrated With Sarasota's GovMax Offering to Help Government Agencies Align Execution With Strategy

Pilot® Software, a provider of
operational performance management solutions, today announced an exclusive
agreement with Sarasota County Government of Florida to integrate
PilotWorks with the county's own GovMax strategic planning application.
GovMax was originally developed internally to manage Sarasota's own
strategic planning, performance measurement and budgeting. By integrating
GovMax with the PilotWorks operational alignment framework, users will have
a comprehensive performance management solution that includes operational
planning and budgeting along with interactive strategy plans; initiative
management; scorecards & dashboards; reporting & ad hoc analysis; and
modeling & integration. The resulting application, which will also be
offered at minimal cost to other local government and non-profit agencies
on an application service provider (ASP) basis, will enable organizations
to rapidly align their day-to-day execution with overall mission and
strategy to successfully achieve objectives.
"PilotWorks, with its unique initiative management capabilities, provides a
good balance between the high-level overview of performance and the
details, such as schedule, contingencies and drill-down analysis, that
reflect the substance of successful planning and execution," said Bob
Hanson, chief information officer for Sarasota County Government. "Not
only is Pilot a clear choice from a technology perspective, we also found
in Pilot an established partner on whom we can depend."
Rooted in the philosophy that taxpayers and communities benefit when their
governments share technology resources, Sarasota County Government has
spent years refining its GovMax system specifically to support public
sector agencies. In addition to using the system internally for its own
strategic planning and performance management initiatives, Sarasota County
Government hosts the GovMax system for use by other communities through
cost-sharing agreements. GovMax's local government and non-profit user
organizations benefit from greater efficiency, better accountability and
more effective means of communicating outcomes to the public -- all with
minimal start-up costs, technology requirements and implementation time.
Integration of PilotWorks with the GovMax system will combine the only
integrated operating and capital budget system for government
organizations with a comprehensive operational performance management
solution. Delivered via the Web using a scalable, low-cost business model,
the resulting solution will enable local government and non-profit
organizations to leverage its full planning and execution power to align
day-to-day execution with strategy.
Sarasota County's leadership in innovative use of technology consistently
earns them top ranking among local governments. Most recently, Sarasota won
the number two spot among its peers in the 2004 Digital Counties Survey, a
national survey focused on how county governments are applying information
technology to effectively deliver services to their citizens.
"With the mandate for greater accountability, government agencies have
increasingly developed strategy initiatives to focus their efforts and
become more efficient, results-oriented organizations," said Jonathan
Becher, president and chief executive officer of Pilot Software. "Critical
to making good on these initiatives is the ability to prioritize and align
limited resources with agency strategy on a continuous, even day-to-day,
basis. We are delighted to partner with Sarasota County Government, a
recognized innovator within the public sector, to offer these capabilities
to more local government and non-profit agencies."
