SmartData, Inc. and Netcoast Communications, Inc. Complete Merger

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27, 2004 -- SmartData, Inc. and Netcoast Communications, Inc. announced that the merger between the two companies was completed following the approval by their respective stockholders. Additionally, the stockholders approved changing the name of the company from Netcoast Communications, Inc. to SmartData, Inc. At the opening of business on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, the merged company's stock symbol changed to SDAI and began trading on the over the counter bulletin board or "Pink Sheets". The company's headquarters will be located in Richfield, OH.

SmartData, Inc. is a software engineering company that makes secure, virus-immune data management software applications for both business and government. The SmartData family of software applications performs data analysis, collection, presentation and archiving operations. "What" SmartData's software products do is not unique; "How" SmartData's software products work is unique and of increasing value in the marketplace: they are secure, virus-immune, rule-based, platform independent and scalable. SmartData's patent-pending rule-based software can alter its functionality while running (using "rules," no need for programming) so it lets third-party integrators create a secure software product while competing with low-cost offshore developers using traditional code development methods
