Thousands of businesses in Maryland now can file their sales and use tax returns electronically. The state comptroller encourages this process, called e-filing, as a simple way to save the state and business tax filers time and money. To help businesses e-file, the Comptroller of Maryland's office has approved Trustfile as a vendor for sales and use tax electronic filing. Trustfile offers software and a processing system that makes the preparation and transmission of sales and use returns and payments quick and easy.

Maryland Comptroller William Donald Schaefer said, "We welcome Trustfile as an important new partner in our continuing effort to facilitate the use of electronic filing by business taxpayers."

"Maryland's commitment to e-filing is obvious. The state comptroller has even awarded certificates of recognition to professional tax preparers in each county who had the largest percentage increase in electronic filing over the previous year," said King Woolf, Trustfile's president. "Trustfile has years of experience helping states and businesses phase out expensive, time-intensive, and error-prone paper processes in business-tax filing. That experience will help Maryland make a smooth transition to e-filing."

E-filing Made Easy

Trustfile's software and processing system offers e-filers several key benefits:

-- Confidence in safe, secure e-filing: Trustfile is a proven and reliable solution that provides timely acknowledgement of filing and payment, assuring high-quality, accurate filings. It also includes automatic form calculations specified by the state. Businesses' tax data are stored in their systems, offering quick access for reference, planning or audit purposes.

-- An easy, cost-effective way to prepare, e-file and e-pay business taxes: Trustfile software features an easy-to-use interface and a simple way to import filers' tax data without having to manually input the information. That way, companies can spend less time filing taxes and more time building their businesses. In addition, preparers can print out a copy of the return for review before actually e-filing it.

-- Prompt customer service: Trustfile offers fast access to a help desk staffed by knowledgeable representatives.

-- Extensive staff knowledge of e-filing and e-payment requirements: Approved by Departments of Revenue in several states, Trustfile was the first company in the nation authorized to facilitate sales and use tax e-filing and e-payment.
