Page Technology Marketing Inc. To Engage In Arbitration Proceedings
Page Technology Marketing Inc. (DBA PageTech) has announced that it has begun arbitration proceedings against Contour Software and its successor-in-interest, Ellie Mae Inc. The arbitration proceedings will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association of San Francisco.
PageTech's alleged claims arise from a December 1995 software license of a restricted version of the company's PCLTool Software Developers Kit product. PageTech's claims include allegations ranging from copyright infringement, contributory copyright infringement, breach of contract and violations of the Millennium Copyright Act. Both Contour Software and Ellie Mae deny the allegations.
In 2001, The First American Corporation sold Contour Software to Ellie Mae Inc. to make it the "Nation's Largest Loan Origination Software Provider". At that time, Contour Software claimed to have "a customer base of 40,000 active seat licenses."
