BANKFIRST and Legend Credit Launch Hello Kitty Debit MasterCard Card
Hello Kitty, the international symbol of fun
and friendship, was available in the United States on a debit
MasterCard card. Today, BANKFIRST, Legend Credit, a subsidiary of Legend
Mobile Inc. and Sanrio, launched the Hello Kitty Debit MasterCard Card.
The card is no longer available, but here is a great resource for Hello Kitty fans.
The Hello Kitty Debit MasterCard enables its users to prepay or store money
in a financial account that can be accessed for purchase, bill payment, or
ATM cash withdrawals. It provides shoppers a convenient and secure method
to access their funds. Parents often find prepaid debit cards a welcome
financial convenience to share with adolescents. Plus it helps teach smart
money management techniques and financial responsibility.

The Hello Kitty Debit MasterCard is accepted at millions of locations
worldwide, and includes optional cash access through the Cirrus ATM network
worldwide. The card can be reloaded with additional funds, and if subject
to loss, theft or fraud, MasterCard Zero Liability applies.
"With the Hello Kitty Debit MasterCard, loyal fans of this global icon have
a new way to connect with Hello Kitty while enjoying the payment
flexibility and convenience that comes with a prepaid debit card," said
Jeremy Kuiper, Director of Payment Systems, BANKFIRST. We are excited to
make this card available to Hello Kitty enthusiasts in the United States.
Cardholders can select from two different designs: a pink card featuring a
sophisticated outline of Hello Kitty or an orange and cream design
featuring a full graphic of Hello Kitty on her way to the mall. In addition
to the two design choices, the card is fully reloadable through bank
transfer, retail loading, or payroll deposit.
"We are very excited to offer the millions of Hello Kitty fans in the
United States this new debit card. Hello Kitty is loved by fans of all
ages, all around the world and now instead of just shopping for Hello Kitty
products they can shop with Hello Kitty in their wallet," said Peter
Klamka, President of Legend Credit.
The Hello Kitty Debit MasterCard will be promoted in conjunction with a
number of events as part of the 30th anniversary of Hello Kitty.
"Fans who have grown up with Hello Kitty will be able to celebrate thirty
years of bringing smiles to women of all ages across the globe," said Bruce
Giuliano, Vice President of Licensing, Sanrio.
