Kewl International Planning Bottled Water Launch in the U.S.
Enhanced Natural Spring Water Product With "Kewl" Brand Will Be Marketed to Sporting Venues and Retail/Grocery Outlets
Kewl International , the hockey based
apparel company, announced today that it is in advanced discussions with a
Canadian natural spring water company to begin U.S. marketing of its
bottled water with an as yet undisclosed KEWL brand name. The focus of the
marketing effort will be sports venues, such as sports facilities and
arenas, sports clubs and minor/junior leagues, as well as leading
convenience and grocery chains throughout the U.S.
According to Kewl International Chairman and CEO Domenic Fanelli, "In
recent years there has been explosive growth in the bottled water industry.
With this new vitamin and mineral enhanced spring water product, supported
by the Kewl brand name, we believe we have a unique opportunity to carve
out a profitable niche with athletes and sports fans in a multi-billion
dollar product category. This is the second 'non-apparel' product line we
have announced, and there will be more in the future, as we aim to
capitalize on the Kewl sports connection and brand name with an increasing
array of non-apparel products that go beyond the company's hockey origins."
The company said that the Kewl International bottled water focus will be on
the U.S. market. Kewl Corporation is testing the market in Canada. "In the
weeks ahead we will unveil additional details on this exciting new product
as well as our marketing and distribution progress," Mr. Fanelli said.
