African Americans To Sue Cotton And Tobacco Companies

Two Billion Dollar Suit To Be Filed In Federal Court

Resumealley.com, in conjunction with several African-American law firms, will begin drafting suits to be filed in the federal court's Southern district against tobacco and cotton companies that benefited from free slave labor.

The lawsuit will focus primarily on tobacco and cotton companies that thrived in the South prior to Reconstruction and that are still either in business today or can be linked to cotton and tobacco companies of yesterday.

Asante Kahari, CEO of an online employment services site called ResumeAlley.com, conceived the idea while reading a book called "Without Sanctuary," which details the economic effects that slavery had on the nation's modern economy. If awarded, the money will be used to provide educational opportunities for African-American children who have a desire to go to college.

Anyone wishing to assist in preparing the necessary legal documents or assisting in anyway possible can contact Resumealley.com's legal department at Legal@resumealley.com or ResumeAlley.com's headquarters in New York.
