Shalom TV Welcomes Blue Ridge As Launch Partner

Shalom TV, an emerging digital cable television network celebrating Jewish culture, has reached a systemwide carriage agreement with Blue Ridge Communications.

The launch brings Shalom TV's entertaining and educational offerings to 180,000 customers in Northeastern Pa. Major areas served by Blue Ridge Communications include Lehighton, Stroudsburg, and the Poconos.

In 1974, Blue Ridge Cable was one of the three cable systems in the United States to introduce HBO, starting a new revolution in television entertainment. Blue Ridge Communications now offers analog and digital cable, Video on Demand, subscription Video on Demand, dial-up and high-speed Internet access, and Digital Video Recording.

Created as a stand-along premium service, Shalom TV's addition is part of Blue Ridge's launch of select international services targeted at specific demographics and cultures. Network offerings are expected to be available on the cable provider's video-on-demand platform later this year.
