World's First One-Button GPS Cell Phone From Clayton Communications Protects And Locates Joggers, Hikers, Seniors

Joggers, hikers, cyclists and even seniors are frequently targets for theft, assault, rape or abduction. The new SafeGuardian(TM) One Button GPS Cell Phone calls for help with the push of one button.

Clayton Communications Inc. is introducing the world's first single-button GPS cell phone resulting from recent advances in GPS and cellular technology. The SafeGuardian(TM) contacts emergency assistance personnel at the touch of a large button on its front to help paramedics, police, or other rescue workers locate a person quickly and accurately. The SafeGuardian helps prevent violent crimes and aids in medical emergencies.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice's National Crime Victimizations Survey, there were an estimated 5.5 million victims of personal crime in 2002. About 76% of violent crimes reported occurred within five miles from home.

Within seconds of the SafeGuardian's button being pushed, a live personal assistant and emergency dispatcher will answer. The personal assistant can immediately dispatch local police, fire, paramedics or roadside assistance.

The cell phone is GPS-enabled, allowing the assistance center professionals to perform a "locate" to help emergency assistance find the caller if necessary. It can also be used to help a lost hiker or jogger. When the sky is clear the built-in GPS locator is accurate to within 30 feet.

The unit is small (5"x2"x1"), lightweight (6 ounces), and uses commonly available lithium batteries (no charging required).

"The Assistance Center has the latest call center technology enabling personnel to know who is calling and to have important information such as the callers' names, phone numbers, and medical information available immediately," said Thomas C. Franks, President of Clayton Communications Inc. "Anyone can leave standing instructions for the Assistance Center to immediately dispatch help in the event that the button is pushed and the subscriber is unable to respond to the call center."

The SafeGuardian also features a 95-decibel siren designed to attract attention and to ward off attackers.

SafeGuardian subscribers can request to be connected to anyone worldwide, store important information (names, telephone numbers, medical information, etc.) for quick access, receive driving directions, or request the location of any local business or facility including hospitals, veterinarians, restaurants, gas stations, and hotels.

The SafeGuardian retails for $199 and the a monthly service plan is $34.95. Clayton Communications offers free activation and free emergency calls. Non-emergency and optional concierge calls are $1.25 per minute.

"Independent seniors like the ease-of-use and the feeling of safety and security they get from knowing they can obtain assistance anytime and anywhere," added Franks. "Children too young for a regular cell phone can easily carry and operate this one-button cell if they need help."

The phone's large help button is easily accessed by seniors and school-aged children.

The phone works anywhere in the United States that has analog cellular service available. Clayton Communications offers a free 30-day money-back guarantee to all subscribers. More information is available at www.safetyandsecuritycenter.com or by calling 800-378-2957.
