Wil Reynolds Named Executive Director of PhillyBlog.com
Kronstain Resigns Post; Remains on Board of Directors
PhillyBlog.com announced today that
Philadelphia entrepreneur and co-founder of PhillyBlog.com Wil Reynolds has
been named Executive Director of the Philadelphia-based non-profit.
"I'm excited," Reynolds said. "I think PhillyBlog has a great future here
in Philadelphia, I think we've built a great product so far and I look
forward to being the one to take it to the next level."
Reynolds, 27, is a partner in the Philadelphia-based online marketing and
design firm Seer Interactive http://www.thinkseer.com)">. Prior to his work
with Seer, he was a web marketing consultant with a Fortune 500 company.
"I think it's impossible for a community of this size not to have an impact
on our culture," Reynolds said. "With more than 1,500 members able to
converse 24 hours a day online, we know PhillyBlog is having an impact and
we know what that impact is -- but we also know we have a lot of work to
do."
Outgoing Executive Director and co-founder Jennifer Kronstain said Reynolds
brings a deep understanding of the online realm to the post.
"Wil and I were true partners in the effort, and though we assigned titles
to our roles, there really was not a hierarchy of any sort," Kronstain
said. "He's a natural at what he does."
Kronstain will remain as Chairman of the non-profit's Board of Directors
and will spearhead the organization's grant-seeking efforts and national
outreach.
"One of the keys to being successful in business is knowing when to step
aside," said Kronstain following the announcement. "This is the right time
for me to do so.
"Since founding the board in 2002, we've attracted well over 1,500 members
and achieved fiscal solvency. I consider it to be a success," Kronstain
said. "New leadership in young organizations is healthy, and I know Wil
will do all the right things."
Reynolds' appointment will be official Sept. 1, 2004.
