SMART Modular Technologies, Inc. Names Jack Pacheco as Chief Financial Officer
SMART Modular Technologies, Inc. announced
today that Jack Pacheco has been named Chief Financial Officer. Mr.
Pacheco will be responsible for SMART's worldwide finance, tax, treasury
and risk management activities.
Reporting directly to SMART's President, Iain MacKenzie, Mr. Pacheco will
also oversee information technology, human resources, and legal activities
for the company. "We are very pleased to have Mr. Pacheco join the SMART

track record of building sound financial programs will enable him to
develop a financial infrastructure that is flexible and that meets our

SMART, newly independent as a result of its divestiture from Solectron
Corporation after almost five years, is renewing its commitment to
developing technology solutions, producing high quality products, and
delivering outstanding service to its customers and strategic partners.
Mr. Pacheco rejoins SMART after a 3-year absence during which he served as
Chief Financial Officer for Ignis Optics, Inc., an optical components
startup, recently acquired by Bookham Technology. During Mr. Pacheco's
previous tenure with SMART, he held the position of Corporate Controller
and Vice President, Finance. Under his leadership, a strong finance and
systems organization was built that helped SMART grow into an
industry-leading company. Mr. Pacheco's responsibilities included all
facets of the corporate planning, capital structure, and systems functions
as well as merger, acquisition integration, and IPO.
He holds an MBA from Golden Gate University and a BS in Business
Administration from Washington State University.
