President Bush Offers Government Grants and Loans to Women, Minorities and Home Based Businesses
New Cooperative Program Provides Government Grants, Loans and Job Training
If you are recently unemployed or credit
problems are holding you back from starting a business, buying a home or
new car, here is important news. Government and private lending
institutions are now joining forces to stimulate the national economy and
to make it easier for people with poor credit ratings to get low interest
loans.
President Bush declared, "The entrepreneurial spirit in America is healthy.
It is a great strength of our country. If you feel like you've got what it
takes to start a business, if you want to go out on your own, you think
you've got a good product, the country says, we welcome you to do so."
Billions of loan and grant dollars have been earmarked for people
previously identified as credit risks, proclaimed Terry Newborn, a
researcher for Government Publications based out of Washington, DC. Money
is available to purchase homes, cars, start a business, and consolidate
debts plus many other purposes. In addition, new financial resources have
been committed to help the unemployed get job training and re-enter the job
market.
HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson and President Bush have introduced a
Homebuyers Bill of Rights to help prospective buyers understand the true
costs of their mortgage and reduce settlement fees. Many of America's
largest financial institutions are committed to increasing home buying
opportunities for minorities, credit impaired, the homeless, the elderly,
people with disabilities and those on subsidized incomes.
"Now is the time for citizens to act if they need money for any worthwhile
purpose," urged Newborn. He also reported that several reduced-cost and
even free programs now exist to benefit economically disadvantaged and
recently unemployed persons. Such programs include dental and vision care
services, prescription plans and legal aid. Newborn warned, "Americans
should be wary of TV ads and web sites that advertise a Free Medicine
Program because most contain hidden charges and fees."
Government Publications offers a CD-Rom, which provides the latest
information on new programs as well as existing free grant and loan
resources for any worthwhile purpose. It sells for $39.95. The CD-Rom also
includes 50 successful grant and loan applications that were funded. These
sample applications are essential items since most denied grant and loan
applications are due to improper or incomplete paperwork. For more
