Go Now: Daytime Emmy Predictions

This is Garrett Godwin, and it is time to Go Now. This is the place, here at Newsblaze, for the latest on the addictive world that we all know and love so much as the world of entertainment. On this special edition, I’m here to give you the predictions and snubs for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards in the soap opera genre. So, keep up.

Here are the nominees for Lead Actress:

Maura West (Carly, As The World Turns)

Crystal Chappell (Olivia, Guiding Light)

Nicole Forrester (Cassie, Guiding Light)

Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young & The Restless)

Jeanne Cooper (Katherine, Y&R)

Predictions: TripLangley from TV Guide posted that Forrester is “instant fast-forward and has never been right for Cassie.” Though she is “flawless,” TripLangley said Cooper never had the material for an Emmy nomination. Stafford, on the other hand, could be a shoe in this category in her role as Genoa City’s sometimes bad girl redhead with a heart of gold.

Snubs: Laura Wright [Carly, General Hospital] “acts circles around the stuff they [the writers] give her,” said sunsetsnow81, “and if she could enter the material from the last couple of weeks, she would have been a cinch.” Fan favorite Martha Byrne (ex-Lily, ATWT) should’ve been nominated for her performance as a woman going through difficult times such as a troubled marriage in her life.

Well, if you agree or disagree, then cast your votes at the Soaps section at TV Guide.

And don’t forget that the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will broadcast live at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday, June 20 on ABC.

I’m Garrett Godwin, and I have to Go Now once again, and I’ll see you later.
