**Redemption: The people known as canners who barely survive on the streets of NYC during these economic hard times, recycling discarded bottles and cans for a nickel each, are the subject of this solemn documentary. A grim vision of ‘post-industrial gleaners struggling at the edge of scoiety.’

Filmmakers John Alpert and Matt O’Neill also discuss being nominated this year for an Oscar at the upcoming Academy Awards, for Redemption.
