The Grill at Twin Peaks Offers Cozy Local Retreat For Gastronomical Experience

The Grill at Twin Peaks, A Rewarding Experience

About a half hour from San Bernardino, there’s a nice community called Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks is just below Lake Arrowhead. There, one can enjoy the robust air, the sounds of a Coyote calling and all sorts of birds calling to each other. There is also another tranquil place where one can romance and enjoy the delightful aspects of dining. This is “The Grill,” at Antlers Inn, an historic landmark owned by Bob Johnson. “The Grill,” is built like a log cabin, where there’s dining on the porch during the summer, a sushi restaurant upstairs and a very warm dining room.

Now, let’s take a culinary journey and tantalize our taste buds with a taste of some of the more popular dishes at the Grill. Appetizers for this evening included Cajun style Crab Cakes with Lemon Dijon Beurre Blanc, White Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza and a Thai salad with Ahi Tuna, udon, edamame, crispy wonton and peanut chili sesame dressing. All three appetizers were prepared fresh and all were very tasty.

Our main entree consisted of Venison Osso Bucco, which is prepared with a misio of braised vegetable sauce, garlic whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. The Venison had an excellent semi sweet taste that combined with the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, was a delight.

My guest, Rossana Huang, enjoyed the Tequila Chicken Fettuccine, prepared with sweet onion, roasted red peppers with Fettuccini, without the chicken. The sauce makes this dish a delight. But there is yet another version of this dish entitled Pumpkin Pesto Tortellini, prepared with andouille sausage, chicken, sweet currants, roasted red peppers and shallots in a pesto cream sauce. This dish can be ordered without chicken and sausage for vegetarians.

What a fulfilling tasting!

Our journey ended with a Lavender Infused Creme Brulee, Apple and Pear sweet bread and a pudding with whiskey sauce. All three deserts were prepared on the premises. The Grill at Antlers Inn is located at 26125, California 189, in Twin Peaks, just below Lake Arrowhead.
