Superheroes are The People’s Choice

The battle of the superheroes was waged this summer at the box office, and now it will continue with The People’s Choice Awards. The event, which airs early next year, is voted by the fans for their choice of their favorite actor, movies, television shows, and artist.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull, The Dark Knight and Iron Man are up for “Favorite Movie” and “Favorite Action Movie” awards. Their real-life alter egos, Christian Bale and Robert Downey Jr. are in the running for “Favorite Male Action Star,” as Bale’s fight with the late Heath Ledger’s Joker have been nominated for “Best Onscreen Match.” The Dark Knight also received another nod for “Best Cast.”

In other categories, Britney Spears gets a “Scene Stealing” nomination for her guest work on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother. Her two-episode stint as an office assistant gave the series its highest ratings ever last season. Sadly, the 26-year-old was shut out in the female music category, which has been taken over by Rhianna, Alicia Keys and Carrie Underwood.

The nominations for The People’s Choice Awards was announced on Monday, and winners will be chosen via online at www.pcaVOTE.com up until December 7. They’ll be announced live on January 7 on CBS.
