Facebook Integrates With Skype

Facebook and Skype are in talks about integrating to leverage the VOIP giant’s PC-to-PC calling capabilities with their Facebook account information, per reports.

The union will allow users to send SMS messages and make voice/video calls to friends/contacts through Skype, according to AllThingsDigital.

“While I’d love to give you a comment or more info, the only thing I could tell you right now is that Skype doesn’t comment on rumor or speculation, Spokesperson for Skype.”

A Facebook Skype VOIP integration would be an answer to communications/collaboration capabilities offered by Google. The search engine offers Google voice/video chat and Google Voice phone management software, which has been integrated with Gmail. The launch is scheduled for October.
