Twin Arrows Navajo Resort and Casino, the newest resort in Northern Arizona, had Derrick Watchman, the Chief Executive Officer of Navajo Gaming Enterprise; greet media to their pre-opening this month. Mr. Watchman explained the essence of his philosophy of success and the amenities the resort had to offer. Located just outside of Flagstaff, Twin Arrows is just off of I-40, with the panoramic view of the San Francisco Peaks Mountains as its backdrop. Upon entering the resort there’s a magnificent chandelier, representing the Four Worlds. Beautiful art and architecture is shown throughout the resort, which is appraised at one million dollars, and available for sale.
Navajo art and culture is blended into the design patterns throughout the property, which symbolizes various aspects of Navajo ancestor’s accession through the Four Worlds. While touring the property, Christina Kwan, United States World Boxing Champion, the first boxing champion to cash in on the World Series of Poker, along with myself, Vinny Perozzi her trainer and other media, had a chance to experience the culture of the Navajo nation, adding our brush strokes to Johnson Yazzie’s painting.
Twin Arrows has quaintness to it. Designed by Friedmutter Group in Las Vegas, the designers worked with Navajo tribal members to blend Navajo culture and design together. The effect is tranquil, yet the casino area is full of the latest slots and games. The resort is not too large and it’s not too small. There convention area is 8,000 square feet, opening to a beautiful backdrop of the mountains. While conventioneers can enjoy a conference, then stroll over to the casino area, they can also enjoy their high level poker room, one of the finest in the west coast. After a long evening, patrons can also look forward to staying in one of their 99 luxury rooms. Everything is included, from quality toiletries, top quality sleeping beds, with 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and oversized bath towels, IBAHN personalized metro media HD TV, to turn-down service with truffles and Evian water.
Construction has continued to add another 100 rooms and a day spa to accommodate the popular demand Twin Arrows has garnered.
In closing, one must give credit to the international cuisine of The Zenith Steak House, headed by Executive Chef Quinn Mc Cord, who transferred from Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Chef Jason Small Canyon, the top team member with Chef Quinn adds to the gourmet palate, with his creation of Navajo cuisine The quality of beef served at Zenith Steakhouse is Twin Arrows own Navajo beef, open field grazed which is 100% organic. Kansas prime steaks are also on the menu, with array of side dishes such as home made cream of corn soup.
